Head of Marketing

An exciting opportunity to be part of this new and unique venue due to open in the Autumn on a beautiful wine state in Hampshire. They are pioneers of English wine and plan to be the most respected brand for their wines and best in class for their hospitality.

They will offer a 55-cover restaurant with a small terrace for the warmer months, a courtyard restaurant, large bar and an exclusive chefs table. Alongside this there will also be 2 private hire spaces, a large marquee for weddings and parties throughout the summer and boutique accommodation for 2025/26.

The role:

You will lead the marketing to ensure the development and the execution of the growth plan in the UK (the lead market), as well as key international markets. This includes setting the strategic agenda through to developing briefs for campaign communication, brand activation, portfolio management, CRM and evaluation.

As part of the management team alongside other departments (winemaking, hospitality, vineyard, finance) you will be a senior ambassador for the business, helping to define the next chapter of their growth.

Main Duties: -

Shaping the growth plan that ensures the proper execution of brand strategy in all key markets across the world. Define go-to market plans.

Setting the media strategy and managing the deployment of the brands media investment.

Delivering the key brand communication platforms. This involves working closely with the marketing team to plan, develop and execute campaigns.

Delivering the brand innovation programme (new products) in each year.

Managing the evolution of the existing brand portfolio, consistent with the companys strategy. This is a significant responsibility in effect what the product offer is, how the range looks and what the offer is.

Co-responsibility for the ongoing management of the portfolio- product management.

Responsible for the development of a market leading CRM strategy to grow the Customer Lifetime Value of membership, ensuring a healthy community sits at the heart of our business

Setting a strong destination-led marketing programme that drives footfall and one of its many hospitality spaces all year, from dining to events and wine-led experiences

Accountable for investment and KPIs

The role has responsibility for ensuring the development of the marketing competencies amongst the marketing team.

Initiates and drives recruitment processes, recruiting with integrity and ensuring a great candidate experience through the recruitment process.

Motivates and stretches his/her team through regular 1:1s with direct reports to discuss performance and development.

Facilitates employee career development through continuous career conversations and on-going coaching, leading annual talent and succession processes for the team.

Key Skills:

At least 7 years experience in marketing roles, with premium brands/companies

Experience with Wines & Spirits and/or Hospitality experience ideal but not essential

Experience leading a team of 2+ reports

Experience managing earned & owned, paid knowledge in a DTC environment is essential as well as working with an international network of distributors or wholesale customer

International exposure is a big plus; although the short-term focus is on the UK market, international growth will be important to their future plans.

You will have strong commercial acumen along with creative flair, will thrive in a fast-paced customer focused environment and will be resilient to cope with the ever-changing commercial landscape. You are a highly collaborative individual as will work with multiple teams around the business to deliver business strategy and objectives.

It is essential to be able to create and deliver a robust, deliverable brand and strategy that is aligned with wider business strategy; you are passionate about building a brand, creating value and delivering profit, commercially minded whilst respecting the parameters of premium/luxury industries.

The role requires a particular expertise in partnership marketing, brand storytelling, high-end packaging execution and customer relationship management, as well as understanding how the trade works, what their needs are and how to work efficiently with a network of distributors.
