Job Description

We are on the lookout for an experienced Social Media & Content Manager to join our team at Big Think. This is a highly desired role in the agency, and one of our most creative and exciting roles.


You come with experience, not necessarily from an agency, but you are able to juggle multiple projects and time demands with ease. You're hands on with content ideation, planning and execution and love nothing more than seeing your ideas come to life across organic and paid social channels.


You're a creative thinker, but you are also strong with numbers and reporting. You can use a number of native, and third-party social reporting tools, using these to help us identify content that works well, trends and audiences which assist in content strategies.


Working within our marketing team, you'll be exposed to, and be able to work across paid campaigns, e-mail marketing, copywriting and more, we are a small team, so there's a big opportunity to shape this role around you when you join and help take Big Think forward as an agency.


This is a full-time role based in our Glasgow office, there is flexibility for remote work, and an expectation that you will be at client meetings regularly. As your client mix will include gigs, restaurants, and venues across Glasgow there are times where evening events and activities will form part of your working day.

Key attributes for this role:

This is a varied role; think you have some of these but not all? Get in touch and we can discuss requirements!


  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Strong written communication skills with varying tone of voice dependent on client's needs
  • Planning content and content calendars in advance, with the ability to deliver ad-hoc content in-line with trends and client campaigns
  • Responsible for the creation of short-form video clips, and imagery for various platforms including Instagram, TikTok and Facebook
  • Ability to edit content via native and third-party editing platforms, thinking creatively about the final product
  • Briefing and working with third-party photographers and videographers on larger client campaign footage
  • Working with influencers and bloggers, from outreach, sourcing, and activation
  • Assisting in managing events with venue lead clients including launch parties, influencer events and competitions
  • Research and monitoring of social media trends
  • Creation of reports and written narratives for clients, detailing content success and recommendations
  • Delivery of content across other platforms including email and paid social where necessary including content creation, copy, delivery and insights
  • Excellent written communication skills and the ability to forge relationships with your colleagues and clients
  • Work closely with the marketing team, this is a fun and enthusiastic team to be part of, brimming with ideas – we want you to be part of that!
  • Helpful attitude to working with two Digital Marketing Executives, assisting in their training, and sharing responsibilities effectively with them across your clients day to day
  • Agency experience would be beneficial, but an expectation of 5+ years in a similar role either agency or client side is expected
