Job Description

We have opportunities to be part of the Composite Laminating team in the role of Laminator - Weekend Nights.


The Successful candidate must have the following attributes:


  • Possess an excellent working knowledge of composite procedures, material specifications and cure parameters.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of engineering drawings, department equipment and department procedures.
  • Demonstrate a good working knowledge of component requirements.
  • To be self-motivated and to motivate others to thrive in a challenging environment.
  • Ability to calmly and confidently work under pressure to achieve targets and deliver results within required timescales.
  • To communicate effectively, positively and respectfully with all colleagues.
  • To have a flexible attitude and ability to work as part of a team in a demanding and rapidly changing environment.
  • Be results orientated and be confident in your decision-making skills.
  • Be enthusiastic and versatile and be able to build, develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues.
  • Ability to demonstrate a clear understanding of and commitment to Health & Safety.
  • A high level of attention to detail, positive ‘can-do’ attitude and a flexible ‘hands-on’ approach to workload and hours is essential.


The Key responsibilities of this role are:


  • Produce laminated components to the highest quality standard.
  • Adhere to departmental processes when preparing moulds and tooling for laminating.
  • Operate autoclaves according to cure cycle parameters and guidance.
  • Load and unload autoclaves.
  • Break out components.
  • Ensure material used are as per specification and are laid up in accordance with design data.
  • Ensure ERP system is kept up to date with hours, materials and any other information required.
  • Cut and prepare composite material where required in order to maintain material usage efficiency.
  • Continuously develop skills and knowledge to industry standard.
  • Maintain high levels of housekeeping standards.
  • To store moulds, tooling, material, and consumables in accordance with company process.
  • Immediately report any issues that could affect the quality of components.
  • Highlight/report any issues with department equipment.
  • Maintain high levels of efficiency within the composite laminating department.
  • Liaise with other departments and help eliminate past/present and any future problems.
  • To work proactively, responsibly, and professionally at all times and to respect and comply with the company’s reporting structure
