Pay £12 per hour (salary £23,464 per annum) plus Sleep In payment of £50 per shift and great benefits including Health Cash Plan

As our Support Worker, youll be at the heart of supporting our customers who have complex mental health may also have a substance misuse issue and/or a mild learning disability needs to develop their skills to live more independently in the community. Typical day as our Support Worker

• Starting the day with a cuppa and handover from colleagues, catching up on any changes since you were last on shift and the tasks/ support planned for the day ahead.
• You will be supporting customer with their identified support needs such as helping with cleaning, paying their rent/ bills, accompanying to community activity or appointment, or you could be supporting customers to learn and regain skills with daily living activities such as making meals, shopping, budgeting, maintaining their tenancy and moving on to independent accommodation when they are able.
• You might be arranging an in-house cooking group, BBQ or activity in the community such as a trip to Felixstowe for fish and chips.
• Supporting customers at times of distress and being resilient to support them
• Contributing to risk assessments, support planning, goal setting and regular reviews.
• Contributing to the maintenance of the property, reporting repairs and Health and safety requirements.

You bring

• Passion to support our customers to live their best life, working together as a team with an eye for detail
• Experience of supporting others, you may have worked in Supporting/ housing environment before or have experience of supporting others such as family members who have experience Mental health issues
• The ability to workon your own initiative, remaincalm under pressure and havea resilient approach
• Recognise every customer is different and youre able to adopt a flexible, personal approach, listening to customers to understand their needs
• Have a Positive attitude with a solution focused approach
• Able to use technology to update support plans, complete online learning and to collaborate with colleagues.

Our team

Youll join Manager Elle and our Ipswich Cluster team, were super passionate about what we do! Were really proud of how well as a small team we work together and support each other especially at times when life gets a bit tricky for customers. Were a supportive bunch and like to have a good laugh and get together for lunch. There's nothing like a Greggs sausage roll!!!

Job details

• Where were flexible with you, we do need to meet the needs of our customers. That may mean adapting your start or finishing times on occasion.
• Work pattern is a 4 week rolling rota, where you take your turn working sleep in and weekends / bank holidays, shifts are generally 9-6, 2-11 and sleep in 7-3
• Although there are times youll lone work, we often have other colleagues on shift in the service or as part of our wider cluster services and an out of hours on call in the event of an emergency should you need some assistance.
• Youll need an Enhanced DBS check done and we pay for that.
