Job Description
Are you a confident and motivated individual with strong organisational skills? The STEM Outreach team is looking for someone like you to join our dynamic team. We need your help to deliver our extensive STEM Outreach programmes with local schools and colleges at our Miskin STEM centre near Cardiff.
PositionFull-time (Part-time considered, min 32hr/week)
Salary up to £40,000 per year, depending on experience
1. Leading the STEM Outreach programme in Wales:
Develop and build relationships with schools, colleges, and universities.
Expand the STEM Outreach programmes to engage more diverse audiences and meet strategic objectives.
Collaborate with the STEM Tutor/Technician to continually evolve workshops and activities, ensuring they are impactful and meaningful.
Support corporate activities involving the STEM centre.
2. Supporting the delivery of STEM Outreach activities
Organise, promote, and coordinate events, including work experience weeks, STEM workshops, and activities.
Attend careers and employability events at local schools and colleges.
Promote our early careers opportunities at careers fairs and similar events.
Process, analyse, and prepare reports and data for the wider business.
Key requirements
Background in an educational field, engineering organisation, or STEM-based role.
Practical knowledge of STEM activities, including science and engineering workshops.
Excellent communication skills to interact with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
Team and line management experience.
Good presentation and organisational skills.
Proficiency in MS PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
Current driving licence.
DBS check required.
Desirable requirements
Understanding of the Welsh education system (preferred but not essential).
Experience in an engineering or science-based discipline.
Previous experience in an early careers team.
Experience teaching/training or working with groups of young people in STEM activities.
Awareness of different learning strategies and teaching methods for diverse abilities.
Bilingualism (Welsh/English)
