About the Company:


A leading architectural client providing professional architectural related services including urban design, architecture and graphic design is on the lookout for an Architectural Designer to join their team. You will play a crucial role in contributing to exciting residential development projects that shape communities and enhance lives. The company focuses on delivering residential design solutions, particularly on challenging and sensitive sites. Their portfolio of work covers master planning, urban extensions and mixed-use communities; residential development; house type portfolio work; extra care accommodation; care and retirement villages; commercial offices, retail and hotel development and the occasional large private house.



Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead and Design Residential Projects: Manage and design a variety of residential development projects, ranging from small-scale to large-scale layouts (10-500+ homes), from feasibility studies to planning applications.
  • Master planning and Project Management: Oversee the masterplanning and coordination of residential developments, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
  • Team Leadership: Lead project teams, including managing small groups of designers and technicians, fostering a collaborative and creative work environment.
  • Innovative and Sustainable Design Solutions: Develop innovative, sustainable design solutions that meet client requirements and comply with local regulations.
  • Technical Guidance and Mentorship: Provide technical expertise, guidance, and mentorship to junior technicians, supporting their professional development.
  • Client and Stakeholder Liaison: Collaborate with clients and key stakeholders to ensure that design solutions align with project objectives and community needs.


Requirements:


  • 5+ years’ experience (UK based) working on residential housing developments
  • Excellent residential layout design & architectural skills for outline and RM applications
  • Keen interest in both urban design & architecture
  • Good knowledge of the latest legislations and ensuring projects comply with CDM regulations
  • Good understanding of producing associated documents including Design Access Statements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders and team members, along with mentoring junior technicians.
  • Proficiency in using AutoCAD; Revit experience is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and delivering multiple projects simultaneously within strict timelines and budgets.
  • Hand drawn sketching an advantage, but not essential



The salary for this role is £30,000 to £45,000 Dependent on Experience, with 21 days holiday plus bank holidays (pro rata), Christmas shutdown, Company pension scheme, Cycle to work scheme, Eyecare Scheme, Employee retail discount scheme, Employee Assistance Programme, Regular social events, Promotion opportunities, Good CPD programme.
