Irrigation Supervisor

The successful candidate will be responsiblefor the management and maintenance of the irrigation systems at Trump Turnberry, ensuring that they operate efficiently and are in the best possible working condition.

Essential Functions
  • Responsible for the management and maintenance of all aspects and parts of the irrigation system.
  • Carry out any ongoing repairs to the sprinklers, valves, electronics and other elements of the system.
  • Transfer any changes made in the field to the appropriate computer.
  • Carry out routine inspections of all aspects of the system including walking through the Golf Courses with the handheld remote to ensure visually that each station is functioning and set to the required arcs etc. Ensure that the data in the PC matches the field.
  • Initiate a program of planned replacements where and when required. Communicate requirements with Golf Course Management so that parts can be ordered and budgeted.
  • Act as the key liaison between the Resort and the Irrigation Consultant and discuss project work when required.
  • Liaise and work closely with irrigation contractors about supervising and monitoring, ensuring works are completed to the desired standards within set timelines.
Qualification Standards
  • Previous experience in a similar position & practical experience in a greenkeeping role is desirable.
  • Previous experience with irrigation system maintenance and repair with an excellentunderstanding of computer-based irrigation control systemsis essential.
  • Previous working experience of both Rainbird and Toro systems is desirable.
  • A driving license is required for this role.
  • Reliable, self-motivated individual who projects a positive approach to work, the team and change.
  • A good team player with good communication skills and excellent attention to detail.
