Ye Olde Inn, a beloved community pub in Davidson's Mains, is seeking a passionate and experienced General Manager to take over from our current manager, who is moving on after 17 years of dedicated service. Were looking for someone to ensure a smooth transition, maintaining the high standards our regulars and team have come to expect.

About Us

Ye Olde Inn is more than just a pub it's a hub of the local community. With a bustling public bar, a family-friendly lounge, a cosy conservatory, and a large beer garden (seating over 300), we cater to a variety of customers and events. From live sports in the bar to baby showers, weddings, and BBQs in the garden, there's always something happening.

Core Responsibilities

As the General Manager, you will:

• Lead and motivate a team of 20, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations across the bar, lounge, conservatory, and beer garden.
• Provide a welcoming and engaging atmosphere for regulars and new visitors alike.
• Oversee events ranging from small private functions (baby showers, leavers parties) to larger outdoor events, including BBQs, live music, and sporting events.
• Manage stock, ordering, and supplier relationships for both bar and kitchen.
• Ensure the pub meets health and safety regulations, licensing requirements, and exceptional cleanliness standards.
• Be comfortable with sports broadcasting (strong Sky Sports presence) in the public bar, while also managing a food-driven lounge and conservatory.
• Collaborate closely with our departing manager to ensure a smooth handover and maintain continuity in management style and customer experience.

What Were Looking For

• Experience:Youll need a solid background in managing busy pub environments. This is not an entry-level role and requires prior experience in hospitality management.
• Leadership skills:Proven ability to manage a diverse team and maintain a positive, motivated workplace.
• Event management:Confidence in organising and running a variety of events, from small gatherings to large outdoor functions.
• Customer service focus:A genuine passion for delivering excellent service and building lasting relationships with our customers.
• Adaptability:Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple priorities across different areas of the pub.
• Problem-solving skills:Ability to address challenges and implement solutions quickly and effectively.
