Set in 3 acres of gardens on a spur dividing the 2 sandy beaches of Paignton and Preston, this traditional seafront hotel was built in 1856.Itsa 6-minute walk from Paignton Pier and 3 miles from Torquay. This traditional, iconic property provides a great base for exploring the English Riviera and the Jurassic Coast.
The Redcliffe has 70 ensuite rooms, indoor and outdoor pools, fitness suite and 2 seaside restaurants. The Redcliffe has many unique features, including direct access to the beach via a tunnel.?Over the coming months an extensive redevelop programme is being undertaken to transform The Redcliffe into an opulent and luxurious place to stay.
The Role
As a Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef in overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring top-tier food quality, and contributing to menu creation. You will assist in preparing and presenting menu items to meet the highest standards according to the Head Chefs specifications and refine menu plans, suggest improvements to existing dishes, support budgeting efforts, and implement kitchen policies and procedures.

Responsibilities include
- Create visually appealingdishesand desserts that leavea lasting impressionon customers
- Conduct regular inspections tomaintainthe highest standards of food quality, taste, and presentation
- Manage day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring a smooth workflow and efficient use of resourcesand assistin managing kitchen inventory, including stock rotation, ordering, and minimising waste
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines, ensuring the pastry kitchencomplies withall health and safety regulations
- You will work towards fostering a positive and collaborative work environment and mentoring kitchen staff, providing guidance and support
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as aSous Chef,orin a similarleadershiprole
- Strong culinary skills and a passion for creating exceptional dishes
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure environmentand demonstrate excellent leadership and communication skills
- Excellent time management and organisational skillsis essential
- Attention to detail and creativitywhile maintaining the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
