Job Description

We have a new opportunity to be part of our Supplier Quality team in the role of Supplier Development Engineer.


Purpose:

  • To ensure external suppliers produce quality parts to Company standards.
  • To develop supplier relationships and ensure continuous improvement aligned with AMR standards and expectations
  • Understand the overall expectation of the Quality and Inspection process required and implement new systems and methods in a constructive, positive, and practical manner to achieve optimum results of improved quality components from suppliers


Responsibilities:

  • Audit suppliers and track their performance and introduce improvement plans as necessary.
  • Introduce and maintain quality standards documentation for parts produced externally.
  • Provide procedures and processes to enable and maintain full compliance of quality
  • Development of supplier relations with a proactive approach to developing knowledge and skill sets.
  • Improve communication with Suppliers, Inspection, Procurement, Manufacturing and Design Office to successfully deliver quality parts, ensuring all processes have been carried out to the standard required.
  • Ensure the NCR process is robust, and all information is fed back to relevant suppliers in a timely manner
  • Successful on time management of assigned projects
  • Professional and dynamic representation of the Company when dealing with current and any potential suppliers
  • To chair, attend and proactively participate in meetings as required
  • To work proactively, responsibly, and professionally and to respect and comply with the Company’s reporting structure
  • To maintain and develop skill levels to industry standard and maintain current and thorough working knowledge of quality assurance methods and processes


Skills & Knowledge Required

  • Must possess an excellent working knowledge of Quality Assurance methods and processes in a high-pressure engineering environment.
  • Must have experience of auditing supply chain ideally trained to ISO 9001 Lead Auditor level or equivalent.
  • Must have excellent attention to detail to ensure high quality parts are provided by suppliers within the timescales required
  • Possess a thorough understanding of engineering drawings
  • Possess experience dealing high complexity parts and problem solving issues to resolution under pressure
  • Demonstrate a good working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems such as IFS, SAP or similar
  • Demonstrate a good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams
  • To be self-motivated and thrive in a challenging environment
  • Possess the ability to calmly and confidently work under pressure to achieve targets and deliver results within required timescales
  • To communicate effectively, positively, and respectfully with all colleagues and suppliers
  • To have a flexible attitude and ability to work as part of a team in a demanding and rapidly changing environment
  • Be results orientated and be confident in your decision-making skills
  • Be enthusiastic and versatile and be able to build, develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues
  • Ability to demonstrate a clear understanding of and commitment to Health & Safety
