We seek an exceptional Executive Chef to join our team and drive our culinary excellence to new heights.


Position Overview: The Executive Chef will be the culinary visionary and leader at Prep Kitchen, responsible for ensuring the highest standards of food quality, consistency, and innovation. This role demands a passionate and creative individual who will become obsessed with food quality and bring new and exciting dishes to our menu. The Executive Chef will oversee all aspects of meal preparation, from concept to execution, and will lead a team of dedicated kitchen staff to achieve our goals. Operational days are Monday-Friday and it will be expected for the candidate to be on site every day.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Menu Development: Work alongside our development team to create and develop innovative and delicious ready meals that meet our high standards of taste, quality, and nutrition. Continuously refresh and expand the menu to keep it exciting and relevant.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain strict quality control measures to ensure that all meals meet Prep Kitchen’s standards of excellence. Implement and oversee food safety and sanitation protocols.
  • Team Leadership: Work with our Production managers to Lead, train, and inspire the kitchen team, fostering a culture of creativity, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Ensure that all staff members adhere to Prep Kitchen’s standards and procedures.
  • Operational Efficiency: Work with our Process manager to optimize efficiency and productivity in the kitchen and ensure labour and waste stay within their parameters.
  • Procurement: Liaise with our procurement team to ensure the highest quality ingredients are sourced and delivered on time.
  • Customer Focus: Stay attuned to customer feedback and market trends to adapt and enhance the menu offerings. Strive to exceed customer expectations with every meal produced.
  • Innovation: Stay abreast of industry trends and incorporate new techniques, ingredients, and technologies into the meal preparation process. Experiment with new recipes and cooking methods to keep the menu fresh and exciting.


Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an Executive Chef or Head Chef in a high-volume kitchen, preferably in a ready-meal manufacturing environment.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional training.
  • Exceptional culinary skills with a passion for creating high-quality, innovative dishes.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to continuous improvement and excellence.
