Job Description

We are looking for a Sales Tax Technician reporting to the North America Shared Services Centre Team Leader to help us with accounting and compliance. In this role, you will have an impact on the organization by ensuring that Canadian and US sales taxes are correctly applied and accounted for. You will ensure that BRP complies with the various tax authorities in North America. YOU’LL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO: Confirm, through reports, that sales taxes have been correctly applied by suppliers and take steps to ensure that taxes are correctly applied in the future based on information provided by the Indirect Tax team. Analyze various reports to ensure the accuracy of tax determination on sales and purchases. If necessary, make changes in the source system to avoid repeating errors. Help raise awareness among departments involved in the sales tax process of the importance of having the most accurate source data possible. Participate in the sales tax reporting process. Contribute to the renewal process of exemption certificates provided by BRP dealers. Produce various tax and regulatory reports. YOU’LL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES: A diploma/certificate in administration, office automation, accounting or another relevant field (college diploma or equivalent). Experience in sales taxes would be a definite asset, but is not mandatory. A good understanding of IT and the ability to learn new software and features. Discipline, meticulousness, organization and autonomy. Good oral and written English skills, given interaction with colleagues in Mexico and the United States, and sales tax rebates on U.S. state portals in English only.
