Job Description

Summary

The IT Network Engineer plays an essential role in the daily operations of the Enterprise network. It is responsible for creating IT networks for Organizations' businesses. Their duties include but are not limited to installation, configuration, ongoing maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of IT network infrastructure systems, as well as daily operations of the network infrastructure department. The Network Engineers work with 3rd party vendors, participate in projects, work closely with team members and IT technicians, and interact with other Teams to support the Organization's IT infrastructure.

Duties and Responsibility

  • Responsible for daily operations of the Organization's IT network infrastructure.
  • Responsible for Installing, configuring, monitoring, maintaining, testing, and troubleshooting IT network infrastructure Hardware, Software, and Virtualization.
  • Support and collaborate with Senior Network Engineers, Network administrators, Convention network engineers, and IT Operation technicians on daily tasks and projects.
  • Network Engineers support data, voice, and video networks.
  • Provide reports to the IT Infrastructure Manager and assist with vendor's quote requests and procurement.
  • Assists with building, maintaining, and auditing IT network infrastructure-related documentation, including configuration, SOPs, service records, asset inventories, topologies, etc.
  • Assist with the configuration and implementation of IT and ensure the secure transfer of enterprise data, voice, and video. This includes supporting compliance with PCI, HIPAA, and GDRP policies and regulations.
  • Network engineers work with third-party vendors and interact with other teams to support the enterprise's IT infrastructure.
  • Mentor and cross-train other team members and technicians in the areas covered by the IT Infrastructure Department.
  • Maintaining and staying updated with knowledge and understanding of networking, security best practices, and technologies to support the organization's IT infrastructure with the best solutions and protection.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
Education and Experience:
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in network engineer or network administrator positions.
  • Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related field. (preferred)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Outstanding diagnostic, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Must have experience and working knowledge with:
  1. Installing and Configuring Cisco Network equipment, Cisco Catalyst switches, Routers, and IOS-XE Wireless Controllers)
  2. Installing and Configuring Network Firewalls, Cisco FTD, Meraki, and Palo Alto.
  3. Administrating Cisco ISE, Cisco Prime Infrastructure
  4. Administrating and Monitoring Solarwinds products like Solarwinds Orion.
  5. Troubleshooting WAN, LAN and Wireless Networks, WIFI Captive portal, VPNs
  6. Hands-on experience with standard IT Software and Hardware, including packet capture analyzer software and handheld network testing tools.
  7. Hands-on experience with Network and System Virtualization Platforms, VMware vSphere, Virtual box, Hyper-V, Virtual Machine and Virtual Switches.
  8. Structured cable systems (Fiber and copper), including a good understanding of IDF or IT network closet power requirements.
  9. Hands-on experience with Linux and Microsoft Windows Server operating systems. Experience with DHCP, DNS, Microsoft Network Policy (NPS) Services, and SSL Certificates in general.

Required Certifications and/or Licenses
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) - Required.
  • Cisco Certified Specialist - (Enterprise or Security) a plus.
  • An Active network certification is required and needs to be maintained.
