Job Description

The role of the Chef de partie is to prepare food to a consistently high standard to meet guest requirements. The chef de partie will also ensure the correct storage of all deliveries while maintaining excellent health and hygiene kitchen practices at all times. The Chef de Partie will also assist in the training and developing junior members of the kitchen team and supervise the kitchen as a whole.

Your day-to-day

  • Contribute to the production of food items
  • Be familiar with the menu and any specials of the day.
  • Ensure all dishes are prepared in a timely fashion.
  • Ensure all dishes leaving the kitchen/buffet are prepared to the approved standard of presentation.
  • Avoid unnecessary wastage, to observe proper portion planning and control and to act in a cost-effective, responsible manner.
  • Comply with all Health and Safety guidelines and report any issues as appropriate.
  • Energy and cost awareness to deliver savings where possible.
  • Ensure the kitchen equipment is in working order; report any maintenance issues to the Head Chef.
  • Following company control procedures following the company's Internal audit requirements
  • Ensure excellent food hygiene practice is observed in the entire food chain from storage through to preparation and service.
  • Ensure HACCP compliance within the kitchen and all Food & Beverage outlets.

What we need from you

  • Previous supervisory experience within a kitchen environment.
  • Professional cookery qualification
  • Flexible working shifts.
  • Compliant as well as meeting local laws on food handling.
  • Must speak fluent English.
  • Ability to communicate with your team and the hotel teams.
  • Working in a team

You will be centrally located in Glasgow, an 8-minute walk from Buchanan Street and 11 minutes by foot from George Square. The Glasgow Central train station is a 5-minute walk. This 4-star hotel is 0.8 mi (1.2 km) from Royal Concert Hall and 1.3 mi (2.1 km) from OVO Hydro.
