We are seeking a highly skilled Service and Commissioning Engineer to join our expanding team based in Waterbeach, near Cambridge. Our engineers play a vital role in assembling, testing, installing, and maintaining our bespoke machinery for clients across the UK and worldwide.

The Role:

As a Service and Commissioning Engineer at Huxley Bertram, you will be responsible for:

• Responding to customer callouts and resolving technical issues (mechanical, electrical, and control)
• Assisting with the installation and commissioning of equipment at client sites
• Offering training and support to customers
• Repairing, testing, and maintaining machinery
• Providing regular reports and feedback to customers on service requests
• Liaising with technical sales engineers to develop customer relationships and provide after-sales support
• Evaluating equipment performance and suggesting improvements
• Travelling nationally and internationally to meet client requirements

You will also be part of a collaborative team, working alongside Senior Engineers and technical sales teams to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction.

Key Skills & Experience:

To be considered for this role, you will need:

• An HND/HNC/City & Guilds in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering (or similar)
• Proven experience working with mechanical and electrical industrial machinery
• Knowledge of automation and product handling systems
• Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings
• Hands-on skills in electrical wiring and mechanical fitting
• PLC programming and fault-finding experience (advantageous)
• Experience with servo-hydraulic systems or NI LabView (advantageous)
• Willingness to travel nationally and internationally, often at short notice
• A full UK driving licence

Service and Commissioning Supervisor, and Senior Engineers

Location:

The role will be based at our headquarters in Waterbeach and Cottenham, with travel to client sites across the UK and internationally.

Package & Benefits:

• Salary: £40,000 to £55,000 (depending on experience) + Overtime + Discretionary Bonus
• Flexible working hours: 40 hours per week (core hours: 9:30am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday)
