About the Role:


JP SHOWSYSTEMS is looking for a Show Control Design/Programming Specialist who will play a pivotal role in our innovative projects. You will be responsible for designing and programming show control systems that integrate audio, video, lighting, and special effects to create immersive experiences in theme parks, museums, entertainment venues and high end corporate enviroments. Success in this role means delivering high-quality, seamless control systems that bring our clients' creative visions to life while ensuring reliability, efficiency, and ease of use.


As a key member of our team, your contributions will be integral to ensuring each project runs smoothly and meets our high standards. You'll collaborate closely with creative teams and engineers to develop and implement technically advanced systems, from concept through to installation and commissioning.

Success in this position is defined by your ability to:


  • Deliver fully functional, robust show control systems that meet project specifications.
  • Provide expert programming and technical support on-site, ensuring systems are installed, commissioned, and functioning as intended.
  • Maintain strong communication and collaboration with the broader project team, enabling the timely delivery of high-quality work.
  • Solve complex technical problems efficiently and keep projects on track.


Responsibilities:


  • Design, program, and implement show control systems for entertainment, attraction and corporate projects, ensuring integration with audio, video, lighting, and special effects systems.
  • Collaborate with creative teams, engineers, and project managers to translate design concepts into functioning, user-friendly control systems.
  • Commission systems on-site globally, verifying their operation and ensuring they meet the client's specifications and project goals.
  • Provide detailed system documentation, including drawings, manuals, and as-built updates to ensure clear communication with installation teams and clients.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues during installation and live event phases, providing prompt solutions.
  • Travel globally to client sites for system testing, commissioning, and training, as needed.


Qualifications:


  • Degree in a relevant field (such as engineering, computer science, or technical theatre) or 3+ years of industry experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in show control programming or AV systems integration.
  • Proficient in programming control platforms such as Alcorn McBride, Medialon, QSC QSYS or Crestron.
  • Solid understanding of audio, video, lighting, and network systems.
  • Strong practical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and clients.
  • Flexibility to travel gloablly and work in various environments, including construction sites.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Q-SYS certifications or equivalent experience.
  • Medialon Certified Programmer.
  • Experience in PLC programming and creating user interfaces (HMI).
  • Knowledge of IoT, networking, and system integration.
  • Background in large-scale permanent installations or entertainment projects.
