Employer Description Travel Management company in JHB North Job Description Responsible for negotiating, developing, communicating and managing preferred air, hotel and other (rail, car, etc.) supplier-related programmes within region which will benefit the Company by 1) providing optimal cost savings or revenue producing services to the Company and our clients, and 2) enhancing preferred supplier confidence in our ability to manage and bring value to the relationship. Has responsibility for all air, hotel, and other suppliers revenue regionally with an annual Total Transaction Value (TTV) of more than £30 million. Responsible for all trade supplier-related activities, including contract analysis, negotiation, finalization and implementation as well as problem resolution and business planning. Ensure that the Companys regional supplier relationships result in the optimal benefit for the Company and its customers as related to commissions, overrides, marketing agreements, net fare / rate and market-specific pricing and other value-added programmes and services. Research, interpret and communicate vital travel industry information to upper management, client services, operations, and all other necessary customers so that the company can provide maximum service to clients. Serve as the industry expert (consultant) to internal customers including Client Services and relevant departments by recommending value added solutions considering current industry trends. Work closely with Global Director of Supplier Relations and Regional Heads of Client Services and supporting teams, to establish the corporate strategy for supplier value optimization. To engage all preferred trade suppliers in negotiations on pricing, performance and service delivery. Conduct periodic meetings with primary and key trade suppliers and provide feedback to the Company as necessary. To work with key stakeholders within the Company, as well as strategic partners, in testing innovative opportunities aimed at extracting greater value for the Company from trade suppliers. To establish and maintain a reporting framework that will enable the business to have completed and real-time transparency on supplier performance, enabling the business to take strategic decisions so as to drive maximum value from key trade supplier agreements. To work closely with and support Client Services in ensuring internal staff compliance with any target spend thresholds with key trade suppliers. To report and communicate any supplier or industry related information that may pose both an opportunity as well as a threat to the relevant Client Services management. When required participate in Business Development activities with key and prospective clients. Responsible for increasing GDS and Net fare knowledge within the regions Client Service teams Responsible for maintaining, negotiating and documenting all net fare content for the local regions Qualifications Graduate degree in Business, Finance, or related field of study highly advantageous. Skills At least five years travel industry experience in the areas of Supplier Management, Client Services or related departments ideally within a Travel Agency Benefits Provident fund
