Berkmann Wine Cellars are proud to be the largest family owned and family-run wine importer in the UK. We’ve been selling premium wine to restaurants since 1964 and our expertise has grown along with our portfolio of award winning wines from around the world including Antinori, Ridge and Vega Sicilia. The wineries we represent are like us – progressive and fiercely independent – and we proudly supply their wines to our ever growing customer base across the UK’s leading restaurants, pubs, wine bars and hotels.

To help further our success and accomplishments, we are on a search for a Sales Ambassador who will be tasked with improving brand advocacy and reputation and who will win incremental distribution and increase our rate of sales within Scotland.


· You will work exclusively with our partners L‘Art du Vin and with our Brand Management and Trade Marketing teams to develop promotional activity which meets the strategic ambition for our portfolio.

· Spend significant time in trade across both Independent on and off trade channels

· Secure new listings in high visibility accounts that are in tune with our brands’ ambitions

· Open new accounts and maintaining those we already have

· Attend and represent the company at tastings, events, promotions and hosting dinners

· Be the face of Berkmann Wine Cellars: this Ambassadorial role is significantly important for our ambitious growth plan.


Our preferred candidate will have

· Current experience of working in the premium wine trade within Scotland

· An in depth understanding of the Scottish wine market, it's competitor set and consumer behaviour

· A passion for wine; you will be someone who can talk from the heart, about the history and the stories that accompany our prestigious Agencies


You could be a Sommelier with the desire to change career direction, but must hold the WSET Level 2 as a minimum, (level 3 would be helpful), on-trade sales experience is a prerequisite and an understanding of marketing is desirable. Finally, you must be highly computer literate and have excellent presenting skills.

Working Pattern

This role is 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday and whilst the core hours are 09:00 to 17:30 (plus an unpaid break of 1 hour), you will be expected to work the hours necessary to meet the needs of the role, including some evening or weekend work

Work Location

Field based in Scotland
