POSITION SUMMARY: We are excited to invite a skilled People & Culture Generalist to join our vibrant team at Hollyburn Country Club. As an integral part of our collaborative two-person P&C team, you will partner with the Director of People & Culture to take charge of a wide range of HR functions, including staffing for our brand-new restaurant, implementing HRIS modules, enhancing the use of Microsoft Teams to foster engagement and build community, and driving all People and Culture initiatives. If this sounds like you, we can't wait to meet you KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Operations – 40% Communicate with all staff on Club initiatives and changes using internal communication channels Participate in monthly Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) Committee meetings Responsible for the administration of P&C policies and procedures, including employee handbook updates, policy and compliance dissemination, creating/up keeping SOP’s and workflow charts as needed Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and ensuring confidentiality and security of employee data in compliance with the Personal Information and Protection Act (PIPA) Prepare P&C-related documents including: leaves, immigration materials, employment contracts, offer letters, and termination notices Ensure managers are following performance management guidelines including tracking progressive discipline and annual performance appraisals Enhance the use of Microsoft Teams to foster engagement and build a strong community among staff, leveraging its features to improve communication, collaboration, and team cohesion Implement and manage HRIS (Dayforce) modules to streamline HR processes and improve operational efficiency Provide support with processes surrounding performance management, annual performance appraisals, investigations, and exit interviews Serve as a resource for employees regarding P&C policies, procedures, and workplace issues Additional duties as assigned Recruitment – 40% Responsible for end-to-end recruitment activities from job posting and sourcing candidates to conducting interviews, extending offers and onboarding new employees Developing and implementing effective recruiting strategies to attract a diverse pool of exceptional candidates Ensuring a positive candidate experience through transparent communication and a seamless recruitment process Collaborate with hiring managers to understand their staffing needs and provide guidance on best practices in recruitment and selection Engagement, Training & Development, Data Analysis and Reporting – 20% Lead the planning and execution of staff social events to foster engagement and enhance team cohesion. Manage and improve reward and recognition programs, including the Employee Recognition Fund (ERF), Long Service Awards, and social committees. Conduct surveys, analyze results, and present findings. Coordinate learning and development workshops and various P&C-related events. Collaborate with departments to identify training needs and develop relevant initiatives. Prepare and present HR statistics and reports, including key metrics on employee demographics, talent acquisition, engagement, training, and compliance, to inform strategic decision-making by senior leadership. ABOUT YOU: You are a champion of Hollyburn Country Club’s values consisting of: (1) Community (2) Respect (3) Hospitality (4) Evolve (5) Magic You go above and beyond to demonstrate awareness and understanding of Hollyburn’s aim to deliver exceptional service to its community You are positive, enjoy having fun, growing, learning and working with an amazing team WORKING CONDITIONS: This position operates 100% on-site Occasional evenings or weekend work may be required during peak periods or special events Own transportation is an asset as public transportation is not frequent to/from the Club QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Post-secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources Management or related field 3 years experience in an HR/P&C Coordinator, Administrator, or Generalist capacity Strong understanding of HR principles, practices, and regulations Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data management Effective communication skills both written and verbal Proficiency in MS Office, G-Suite and HRIS software Ability to maintain confidentiality, handle sensitive information with discretion, work autonomously and be a self-starter STAFF BENEFITS: Extended Health & Dental Coverage with 100% of premiums paid by HCC On-duty staff meals (taxable benefit for full-time and part-time employees only) Free on-site parking Retirement Savings Plan with Employer Matching Staff discount in the Sports Boutique
