British Sign Language Support Workers

Pay rate:£16 - £17 p/h(weekly pay)
Shift Pattern: Day, night & weekend shifts

Unfortunately, we cannot provide VISA sponsorshipand we do not hire on a relocation basis, you must currently be based in/around the Bournemouth area and able to commute.
Weve got an exciting opportunity for the right person to work with anindividual living in Bournemouth.
Due to the clients needs, the successful candidates must be fluent in British Sign Language and must be an active member in the deaf community.You must also have experience dealing with LDA individuals, challenging & mental health behaviours in a similar environment and be a calming influence.

Key Responsibilities

Support Workers cover all manners of support for others from companionship and days out, to personal care and housekeeping.

  • Support with all facets of daily living.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive environment.
  • Ensure the individual's safety and well-being at all times.
  • Communicate effectively with the individual and other team members.
  • Maintain confidentiality and respect privacy.
  • Adhere to care plans and guidelines provided.
  • Aid with light household chores which may include cooking, cleaning.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

    • Ability to effectively communicate with individuals requiring care.
    • Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.
    • Empathy, patience, and compassion when interacting with individuals in need of support.
    • Flexibility and adaptability to meet varying care needs.
    • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
    • Willingness to undergo additional training and development as required.
    • Be compassionate and professional
    • An active member in the deaf community (preferable)

    • Fluent in BSL

    • Be dedicated and flexible

    • Be a driver with access to your own vehicle (preferred)

    • Have experience working in a similar role
