Deputy Service Manager

Location:Leatherhead, Surrey
  • Salary:£29,601per annum plus benefits.Sleep-ins are paid additionally at £50.00 per sleep.
  • Hours:Up to 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Sunday on a shift rota basis.
  • Employment type:Full-time, Permanent.
It would be advantageous if you hold a UK driving licence to apply for this role.

The role as Deputy Manager
You will be able to participate in an on-call rota to provide wrap around support. You will be flexible and open minded in your approach with previous experience managing and supporting a team.
Are you a dynamic, forward-thinking deputy manager?
You will need to be able to problem solve, think quickly and be initiative-taking in your approach. You will lead, mentor and workwith ateam of support and senior support workers, ensuring efficient service delivery and effective teamwork. You will be able to provide support to the people you will be supporting, be adaptable, creative, and work alongside them, providing options and choice every day.
You will be a vital part of the team, and deputise for the manager in their absence, making sure that the home runs smoothly and quality assurance is up to date and completed. You will promote and deliver person-centred support each and every day. You willlead by example in a learning environment, ensuring that on-going training is completed by all staff to the company standards. You will be empathic and able to listen, and problem solve on a day-to-day basis.
In addition, you will be able to implement and maintain professional boundaries in your approach. You will be kind, caring, have a sense of humour, be calm, consistent, and compassionate. Above all, after a tough day, step into the next holding no grudges.
Furthermore, as a Deputy Service Manager you will be responsible for:
  • You will assist the service manager to ensure that everyone receives high quality support: people we support and the team supporting them.
  • Some tasks will include:rota management, supervision, and ad-hoc support for the team, training new team members, leading & supporting the team to complete support plans & risk assessments.
  • Youwill manage staff performance, collaborating with the manager and the team, support with trainingand appraisals.
  • You will help ensure the team are knowledgeable and motivated to deliver the best support possible.
  • Working in partnership primarily with the people you support, family andour specialist support teams as well as external agencies, you will champion skilfulinteractions, person-centred planning and partnership working.
  • You will plan and implement professionally designed support plans that genuinely improve the quality of everyday life.
  • Acting as a role model and mentor to the team you will facilitate the use of collaborative working.
  • You will demonstrate sound judgment and creative solutions.
