Role: Category Manager

Salary: £50,000 per annum

Hours: 40 hours per week

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday (usually 8am-4pm, some flexibility may be required)

Job Description

The Category Manager (Packaging) is responsible for overseeing the development and management of packaging strategies that enhance product appeal, ensure quality, and support sustainability goals. This role requires collaborating with the Product Development and Supply Chain teams to innovate and improve packaging solutions, and leading sustainability initiatives. Managing packaging costs, building strong supplier relationships, ensuring regulatory compliance, and utilising market analysis and consumer insights to enhance product appeal. Additionally, the role requires cross-functional collaboration, effective project management, and performance tracking to continuously improve packaging solutions.

Skills & Experience

Essential:

In depth understanding and demonstrable experience of packaging materials, technologies and sustainability practices, preferably with a food background

Confident in using all Microsoft Office applications

Desirable:

Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) qualification

Food manufacturing or retail experience

Multi-site experience
