Job Description

We are excited to be working with a Not-for-Profit in Berkshire to recruit a Finance Director. This role is paying £70,000 - £85,000 per annum, plus incredible benefits (listed in the advert).


This Not-for-Profit has a strong focus on well-being, diversity and inclusion, offering a service to that inspire confidence and inspiration to the community they serve. They are looking for a Finance Director to support the organisation on this journey. They are close to train and bus links, offering free parking on-site for those that drive.


Finance Director:


  • Be part of an Executive Leadership Team with oversight of the Financial Strategy for the organisation.
  • You will oversee Finance, IT, Facilities and Health & Safety.
  • Manage a small team.
  • Overall financial management for the organisation.
  • Production of the financial reporting.
  • Prepare annual budget and offer budgetary control throughout the year.
  • Ensure the organisation is meeting financial regulations, accounting standards and statutory requirements.
  • Oversee the external audit, managing the relationship with the external auditors.
  • Management of the Banks, DfE and ESFA and any other external stakeholders.
  • Act as Company Secretary.
  • Manage cash-flow and treasury management.
  • Ensure robust financial controls are in place to mitigate risk.
  • Develop income generation ideas.
  • Work collaboratively with the Executive Director and wider ELT.


Finance Director:


  • It is essential you are ACA, ACCA, CGMA / CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent qualified.
  • You must have evidence working within a Executive Leadership Team, dealing with matters at Board level.
  • Previous experience within a Finance Director, CFO or COO position is essential.
  • Ideally, you will have strong knowledge of the Academy trust Handbook, understanding all areas of financial regulations and accounting principles.
  • Ability to think strategically, offering commercial value and income generating ideas to the organisation.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to oversee Finance and wider corporate resource functions.
  • Treasury, cash-flow and contract management is essential.
  • It is ideal you have worked in a School or Multi-Academy Trust setting.


Finance Director:


£70,000 - £85,000.

37 hours per week.

30 days annual leave, plus 8 public holidays.
