Salary: circa £35,000 - £40,000 + company shares, performance based bonus, relocation package + more

Job Description
Lab Infrastructure Set-up and Maintenance:
- Coordinate installment and maintenance of specialized equipment (sterile and chemical hoods, ultracentrifuges, freezers, etc).
- Coordinate with external providers to organize estate services (gas delivery, waste disposal).
- Calibration and use of day-to-day equipment, receiving and unpacking deliveries, equipment maintenance.
- Organize gas and liquid nitrogen resupply, arranging appropriate storage and disposal of biological and chemical materials.
Lab Management:
- Ensure work proceeds in accordance with applicable legislation (chemicals, biological material, fire hazard etc).
- Coordinate equipment servicing, maintain records, procure and keep records of consumables and stock.
- Perform laboratory inductions, provide training, liaise with external service providers.
Establishment and Management of LIMS
Managing SOP and Quality Control:
- Document SOPs including purchase requisition systems.
- Ensure adequacy of record keeping, adherence to Health and Safety requirements.
Experience and Qualifications
- BSc or MSc in Biomedical subject or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 3- 5 years operational lab management.
- Ability to draft, review, update, and implement Standard Operating Procedure documents.
- Ability to assess Laboratory Health and Safety requirements, including relevant guidelines and legal frameworks regulating biomedical work in the UK.
- Excellent communication skills required for lab inductions, coordination of lab member activities, and lab operation, as well as connecting with external providers.
