Development Chemist

Exciting new position available with a global company in the fuels and lubricants industy. They are looking for motivated applicants to join the team and assist in the development of formulations in the Fuels Technology team. You will provide laboratory and technical support to the team, as well as being able to work with the sales team to assist with overcoming challenges that clients present.

The role is full time, monday to friday and is a permanent position. Salary Range from £26,500 - £30,500 p/a

Role Responsibilties

• Proactively contribute to the high safety standard of the group
• Design, recommend and execute experimental programmes with guidance from supervisor
• Co-ordinate and ensure completion of discrete work elements; arrange package and fuel blends, schedule analytical and performance tests, collate and analyse data
• Participate in project / activity teams, present results and conclusions of the work as required
• Interact with internal and external contacts as required to progress projects
• Liaise with external service providers to ensure analytical and bench testing are delivered to a high-quality standard and against established timelines

What you should have

• BSc Degree in Scientific Background (Preferably Chemistry or Chemical Engineering)
• Beneficial to have experience in an industry laboratory
• Strong sense of urgency and able to drive work forward to meet targets and timelines
• Effective multi-tasking, prioritisation and time-management skills
• Capable of drawing technically sound conclusions from data, summarise, document and present results clearly on their work
• Able to interact and communicate proactively
